I’m Done writes Liz Parkin

Frida Collage by the artist and poet Liz Parkin.

The girl inside me cries for her youth
And the clock ticks away

I should have done more I think
Paralyzed by fear

The pain is not bad today, I can cope
The silence roars

I must be invisible to men as I was warned
But I rarely heed warnings

I am stoic, accepting, but sad at my fate
Clock ticking away

Seize the day and breathe while I can

— Liz Parkin
