Poetic Observations from the First 51 Days of the Pandemic: Day 24

Asea?

Saying goodbye
As an act of civil disobedience.

We will find our own way
We will arrive separately
We will depart separately
We will be socially distant
We will be socially awkward
We will see the sun set upon a bluff
We will be together.

Saying goodbye
As an act of civil disobedience.

— Mark Butkus

Day Twenty-Four comes from the poet's unpublished manuscript: COVID-19 POEMS — Poetic Observations from the First 51 Days of the 2020 Pandemic.
