Bar None — Brenda Hawley and Passing a Hangover

photo © Mark Butkus 2010
Remnants of the night before.

My mind is numb today
Everyday play, play, play
Need to take a break today
I declare today a movie day

Oh but wait it's 8 o'clock!
Watched a movie, snacked alot
Slowly changing are my thoughts
Feel like giving it all I've got

Company has arrived, I'm so glad
Pasta is cooking, shrimp looks rad
Another good time will be had
Another night I will be bad

— Brenda Hawley

Brenda Hawley was born in sunny Summerland, beautiful British Columbia. Left home at 17 to pursue a life of fun and continue to focus on the positive side of life. Enjoy winters in Barra and summers in Canada. Love my HUSBAND, FAMILY, FRIENDS, PETS and LIFE!

Passing a Hangover appeared in print in the first Bar None Group offering, Bar None: An Anthology of English Writing from the Costalegre. Brenda's poetry has appeared in all three Bar None anthologies and we thank her for her contributions and support inside and outside of these pages.
