Maelstrom of Infatuation

photo © Mark Butkus 2008
A portrait of infatuation.

She's very intriguing.
Perfectly sculpted.
A semi smirk always resides.
Her lips share the same hue as the freshest of roses.
The florescent lights shine off of the black abyss
that is the organized mess of her hair.
She's chaos on display among fine China.
I'm drawn in.
Like a small inflatable raft
being pulled into a raging whirlpool.
It's hypnotic.
It's powerful.
It's beautiful.
Seeing the impending doom
I drop the paddle into the water.

— David W. Bray IV

An exciting new voice, born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, writing helps David W. Bray IV escape the labyrinth in his mind. Maelstrom of Infatuation is the first of David's poems to appear on the Bar None Group website. With his permission, we hope to share more of David's poetry in the months and years ahead.
