Climbed the blue staircase up to the sky
Climbed to where the roses were blossoming
Where the roses were talking

The legend poem, Song of an Initiate is said to have originated with the Pequot in what is now Connecticut. As we sometimes do, the Bar None Group features a poem or a legend from our First Nations when the seasons change. It is a reminder that poetry in its many forms has long existed on this continent through our Native American forefathers.
