Coney Island Kisses

How will you spend the last weekend of summer?

Tonight calls for
walks along the shoreline.
For stardust and sunset.
For foam and footprint.

For Coney kisses,
wishes on waves,
and an ocean gospel
for the serenade.

This whole life
by boardwalk and beach
and now, their distance,
weighing heavily in this chest.

Mama wants some salt tonight.
