Elegy for an Almost Friend

Just because I don't have a _____ story
doesn't mean they didn't live a life.

Yeah, I knew them to see them,
And remember that big old ____ _____.

We never shared a drink
but we had them at the same time
In the same place.

We acknowledged each others existence
— While respecting our personal space —
With a nod and a raised glass.

And that's how I honor you now.
With a nod and a raised glass.

Goodbye my almost friend.
