Love Acrostic

There comes a day
Each and every February
Roses, chocolates, wine
Etcetera are the norm
Some say it with a card or a poem
All say it with love

Perhaps we should look beyond one day
United in love as we are
Eternally bound with
Nothing left to prove
To one another
Endless is our love, today, tomorrow, always

—Mark Butkus

Anonymous Valentine acrostic poems were popular around the time of the American Revolution. The best known Valentine acrostic was not written by a poet, but rather, written to a poet. Virginia Clemm Poe's 1846 Valentine acrostic to her husband Edgar Allan Poe.
