A Question of Sense

photo © Mark Butkus 2011

What do you want me to say?
How are you?
I love You?

Forever lost in an ideal
Never seeking to be found
For I am with you always

Do I miss your touch?
Your body as a canvas
Where dreams come true

Of a kiss on your neck
in a darkened room
The taste of our love

A full array of senses
fumbling under sheets
moments peaking in waves

The sound of a distant shore
that crashes against our reality
A cool breeze respite from passion

Salty air of a shared ocean
takes me back to a tentative dance
as the world revolved around us

I always see tomorrow in your eyes
Even as yesterdays disappear and blend
into smiles recalled as moments

How can I ever say goodbye?
Never getting past hello
You, a keeper of words and hearts

Do you remember?
I'll never forget
You sustain me
