The Bar None Group is now accepting submissions from poets, essayists, songwriters, bloggers and artists for online placement and consideration for the fourth volume of the Bar None Anthology.
Previously published material will be considered for online publication only with a link back to the contributor's favored web page. Articles, poems and essays that have only appeared online at the Bar None site will also be considered for inclusion in the third edition of the Bar None Anthology. Only original, unpublished material will be considered for the Bar None Anthology.
Authors selected for inclusion in the Bar None Anthology receive one copy upon publication for their contribution. Additional copies for contributors can be purchased at author discounts.
Authors are reminded that all submissions must include a 50 word biography. See a list of our contributors for ideas.
We respectfully ask for no more than five poetry submissions in total. Manuscripts must not exceed five pages in total.
Poems should be individually typed and single-spaced on the page. Titles and the author's name should appear on each page.
As Bar None was founded by artists and other creative types who had an affinity and a connection to the Costalegre region of Mexico priority will be given to those who exhibit that connection in their works.
Bar None publishes reviews, interviews, and articles on the arts with a focus on poetry and poetry-related subjects.
We accept fiction and creative nonfiction with word counts anywhere between 100 and 10,000 words. All work should be double-spaced using a twelve-point Arial or Times New Roman font.
Please ensure that your pages are numbered and that your submission is smaller than 2 MB.
We also publish work that is in the public domain. If you know of a literary work that should be considered for inclusion on the Bar None site. Please let us know and we will credit you with pointing us in the right direction. If you have a submission for our First Words, Second Thoughts series please pass it along as well.
All submissions are subject to the Bar None Group editorial standards.
Translations of work in English or Spanish are acceptable. It is the author's responsibility to acquire necessary copyright permissions before submitting their work to the Bar None Group.
We accept simultaneous submissions, but only with immediate notification of acceptance elsewhere.
Writers and artists maintain final copyright on all published work.
Should we choose to publish your work the Bar None Group will contact you upon the selection of your material. If you do not hear from an editor within six to eight weeks, your submission has not been accepted for publication in the Bar None Anthology. Thank you for your consideration.
